Publications and Projects:
- The Committee's largest project, The Baseball Index, is now available on the Web! TBI is a bibliographic index to baseball literature, containing citations on over 175,000 books, articles, and other sources. TBI is the largest resource for information on baseball literature and is an important tool for any baseball research project.
- The Committee also creates indexes for important books that were published without them. Committee members have created indexes for all the team histories in the Putnam series as well as over 60 other books. They also have created indexes for books being published or re-published by the University of Nebraska Press and Southern Illinois University Press. Please contact Andy McCue for more information.
- Committee members have recently published an Index to SABR Publications, and an Index to the Sporting News Baseball Registers, indexing all names that have appeared in that publication over the past 50+ years. Both are available from the SABR Office.
- Committee Chair Andy McCue has updated his Macmillan-SABR Award-winning Baseball by the Books (1991), the definitive bibliography and history of baseball fiction. The 66-page update includes 378 new titles as well as corrections to the original 1414 entries. to obtain a copy of the update, send $12 to Andy McCue, 4025 Beechwood Place, Riverside, CA 92506.
- Current Baseball Publications is a newsletter listing all recently published books, publications and periodicals. Printed copies are free to all Committee members.
- The Committee publishes a quarterly newsletter containing reports on current projects, book reviews, and member news. Back issues are also available.
If you are a SABR member and wish to join the Committee or work on one of the Committee's project, please contact Andy McCue for more information.
If you are not a SABR member and wish to join SABR, please contact the SABR Office for more information.
This page was prepared originally by Ted Hathaway. Terry Sloope is now the Bibliography Committee's "webmaster" (and I use that term in the loosest sense.) If you have any questions or comments about the content of these pages, please write to sabrbib@mindspring.com
